Iowa Valley (ECC and MCC) runs a PN to ADN ladder: the ADN/RN year requires a copy of a current Practical Nursing license plus general education courses and a GPA requirement, so new students enter through the Practical Nursing diploma. PN entry: ECC application, HS or GED and college transcripts, Iowa CNA written and skills certification, Iowa Core Performance Standards form, prerequisites (Nutrition, A&P I and II, Microbiology, Human Growth and Development) with C- or better and 2.70 GPA, sciences within 10 years, and ATI TEAS minimums Reading 47.6, Math 46.7, Science 33, English 40 (waived with a bachelor's degree). Applications accepted year round; nursing admissions folder due March 15 for full consideration; background check, physical, immunizations, CPR and mandatory reporter training after acceptance.
